Body Lotion for Your Lovely Skin
Your skin is the largest organ in your body and keeping it healthy should be a top priority. Just as you take precautions to protect your heart and lungs, there are a number of things you should be doing to nourish young skin cells and combat the effects of aging. Protecting the skin from the sun is very important, along with drinking plenty of fluids and eating a balanced diet. The use of a moisturizing skin body lotion is recommended as well.
When choosing the body lotion for your skin there are several things to look for. First and foremost, you want to avoid any lotions that leave you feeling greasy. The top two ingredients in all of the top brands of lotion are water and oil. There are several different types of oil which will affect different people in different ways and you need to find the one that works best for you. Glycerin is the most common oil that is used and is derived from vegetable oil. It works with even the most sensitive of skin. Other common oils include coconut oil, rose oil and sunflower seed oil.
There are a number of other ingredients that are contained in skin body lotions which will help nourish your skin. Look for brands that include Vitamins E, C and B which are great for the skin. Some lotions will contain green tea which is rich in all of these vitamins. Aloe Vera gel is a common ingredient in many brands because of its healing effects. Aloe is used in most lotions used to treat the effects of sunburn. Collagen is another great ingredient to look for in a skin body lotion because of how it helps the skin retain moisture.
Before you apply skin body lotion, you should take a shower or bath and wash your skin with soap and water. It is very important though to avoid long showers or baths because that can dry out your skin even more. Most of the lotions will require that you shake the bottle before dispensing the cream. Put a small amount in the palm of your hand and massage it into your skin. Avoid applying the lotion around sensitive areas of the body like your eyes, nose and mouth.
