Cleansing Lotions What Are They Good For?
The skin is the largest organ in the body and is considered attractive in a person if it's healthy. The cleansing lotions removes dirt, dead cells and bacteria. If these are not removed they can cause oily skin and lesions, and allow bacteria to grow in blocked pores. If you do not treat them properly it could lead to permanent scarring. Skin cleansing lotions are used to remove makeup, that otherwise will block the pores.
Lotions are typically low in viscosity compared to gels and creams. It is made by emulsifying oil in water. Additional alcohol substances such as glycerol, proteins, petroleum jelly, stabilizing agents, dyes, fragrances, and preservatives are used to give a more acceptable end product. They stop the oil and water phases from separating and give a scent and color to the product. They also include vitamins that help skin growth and moisturize the skin. However cleansers used on oily skin should have as little natural oils as possible, otherwise it adds to the oiliness of the skin.
Cleansing lotions are considered more suitable to oily skin, compared to gels and creams. Oily skin is caused by the over activity in sebaceous glands producing excess sebum. When there is excessive sebum, the skin becomes thick and rough in texture. Skin blemishes, pimples and shininess characterize oily skin. While oily skin locks in moisture and prevents aging to an extent, it is more vulnerable to blackheads, clogged pores, and accumulation of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.
Cleansers prevent the sebaceous glands from being blocked. If these glands which produce sebum are blocked the skin could dry up and create a variety of skin problems in people. Problems include wrinkles, premature aging and skin lesions. Lotions help keep the skin hydrated, and there by allow for smooth and soft skin. This is a reason why most cleansers include Vitamin E, which is a natural moistening substance for skin.
Cleansing lotions are usually applied to the skin around face and neck with fingertips or sometimes with a cotton cloth. After keeping it on for the recommended duration, the lotion is easily removed using warm water, or using a muslin cloth. It is highly recommended that direct eye contact with the lotion is avoided. Normally they are used once or twice day, but people can use them on some occasions to remove make up after an outing. However frequent usage of skin cleansers is not good for the skin.
The skin is rich in microbes. And most of these microbes contribute to our skins maintenance. They exist in what is known as a symbiotic relationship with us. This means that both parties benefit from the association, and neither is harmed. Frequent application of cleansing lotions destroys these bacteria that are needed by our skin.
Many people believe that chemical ingredients found in lotions are harmful. Some oils, mainly synthetic ones, can harm the skin by removing vital natural oils found in the skin that is required for its preservation. Anyway, excessive application is harmful to you.
